ANOTHER WEEK IS COMPLETE!!!!

Hola my dear family and friends!!

I cannot believe that another week has passed by here in Mexico!

First, here is a humbling experience: unfortunately, we didn't know that our gas bill was due and we have not had hot water for the past week. The Lord answered our prayers and the gas man was able to save us today!! We have hot water again.:)

I truly love my mission. Each day brings new challenges, but I am truly loving the work! The people here are amazing. I am so blessed every day. The food is really good for the most part! A ton of the little stores here sell corn tortillias, that are soooo good. My favorite meal is those tortillas, warmed up with beans, cactus, and a little sour cream. Yumm.

We have started to just wash our clothes by hand, which is actually pretty fun.

My companion is really awesome. She's hilarious. When we have language study and she talks in English, it makes me think it is this how I must sound in Spanish?? It’s a lot of fun for the most part. Sometimes is hard to voice my opinion, but for the most part it’s great.

So, this week was Halloween/Day of the Dead here in Mexico, and I saw some crazy costumes...:) We had a really fun family/ward activity on Thursday night and it was like Trunk or Treat (hopefully you all know what that is). It was really great and we had 7 investigators there! It was super fun, but one thing here is that everyone listens to the popular music from the United States. The bad part is that no one understands any of the music, and so oftentimes its totally filthy music. Its a little funny, because at this family ward event, they were blasting Pitbull from their cars. Pretty funny!!

We had a great lesson on the Law of Chastity with our new investigator who is going to be baptized on the 28 of this month, and it was awesome. Brenda is totally prepared to hear this amazing message!!

The Family Rivas is also progressing. We were walking in the pouring rain on Saturday night, trying to find a reference, with no luck. I seriously just wanted to cry. We had the impression to go and visit this family, but the gate to the community was locked, but right as we were leaving, they came around the corner! They let us in and we had a totally awesome lesson.

One thing that I want to share is my testimony of Patriarchal Blessings. If any of you have not read yours in a while, I encourage you to first pray, but then read with real intent your blessing. Do this tonight!! (If you don’t have a copy of yours, you can log onto lds.org, create an account and then order it.)  I was able to receive so many revelations, answers, and a true sense of comfort as I read mine this week. I also want to testify of the potential and promises that each of have here in this life. Alma teaches that this life is our time for us to prepare to meet God, and I know that we can be prepared if we cling to the Iron Rod and gospel principles.

First Zone Conference - "It was great to to be able to speak english!"
Truly, I love this gospel, I love the principles, and I love that every day I can try and develop those qualities, and share my knowledge!!

Thank you so much for all of you love and support. I love you all,

Le Ama Muchisimo!!

I'm happiest when I'm teaching!

Dear dear friends and family!!

I was humbled as I opened my e-mail to today and had so many of you that took time to reach out to me.  It means so much, more than you will ever know.  The adjustment continues to be hard, but guess what?

We have four new investigators and they all came to church yesterday!!

It´s amazing! One is a family, with a mom, daughter, and son. The son just barely got baptized, so that was with the elders, but we began teaching the family along with one of the son's friends, and they all came to church on Sunday! The other is a mom that is 23 and has 3 children. Her name is Brenda, and she was a reference from a less active member actually!!  So its great because the less active member is coming to church with our new investigator, and all is really great there!!!

Main mode of transportation -
small carts pulled behind bicycles
Also, on Saturday night when we were walking back to our house, we contacted this awesome family, and have an appt. with them on Wednesday, and I really think that they are prepared by the Lord. Even though we talked with them for like 10 minutes, it was awesome, and totally led by the spirit. They said that they were looking for something to bring their family closer together. (and they have like four young children) It was really great!! So I am crossing my fingers for them.:)

House in the Santa Elena neighborhood in the town of
Cuautitlán where Madison is living.
My companion is the most humble person I have ever met. I love her so much!!  She is teaching me so much and it underscores how blessed I’ve been in my life. Thank you to all of you that have brought so many blessing!

P days are total self indulgent days, and its when I get time to think. It really stresses me out sometimes the amount of time that I will be doing this. But that is only when I am not teaching or serving. Its really different. But, one scripture that I love from this week’s study is is D&C 38:7-

But behold, verily, verily, I say unto you that mine eyes are upon you. I am in your midst and ye cannot see me;

Cross reference it with Acts 17:29-

Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.

These two scriptures have brought me so much comfort here!! I have had a crazy increase of faith here in the mission felid, and know that it is because I have Christ not far from me at all times!!!

Spanish continues to be really hard. I don’t really understand a lot of things still, but I really try my best every day. I try really hard every day to understand, and it is super frustrating when I can’t really express the way I feel.   Its hard because I really know principles of the gospel, and love them, but its hard when I have to break it down so so simply because I cant express it very well!  I pray it will come.

I thank you all for your continued support!

Hasta la proximo semana!

Week one in the field!!

Hola my sweet family and friends!

Well, I have one week in the feild! Crazy.

First companion!!  Sister Chavez, she is from
Sonora, Mexico.  She has been a member
for 4 years and has Madison says she is great.
In truth, this week was very, very hard for me. I am trying to adapt to an entire new world down here in Mexico. I have really missed my sweet family, and wish more than anything that I could just hug my dad. I have really struggled with the Language, and teaching is a whole new beast!!

It brings peace to a parent's heart
simply to see her smiling!
But, despite the few trials that I have here in the mission feild, I know that I have been called to this area, this mission, and to teach certain people for a very specific reason! I have grown so much, although it has only been one week. Every thing is so foreign, me.  Where I sleep is foreign, the people I see, the food I eat, the smells I smell, the people I see, the world I am in is so foreign.  In truth, my testimony one of the only things that I have a strong grasp on here. And I do have a very strong conviction that this church provides everlasting happiness and joy. I have a burning faith that the Lord is acutely aware of every situation that we face, and provides a way through every trial.

I love you all, and really am able to feel all of your thoughts and prayers for me throughout the week.
Please continue to pray for me, as I do for you.

All my love,
Hermana Beardall

VIVA!!!

Dear Family, Friends, Brothers and Sisters in the Gospel

I have conqurered the CCM, or it conquered me, either way today has been my official first day in the beautiful Mexico City, and its completely LOCO!

Right now I am emailing from a internet cafe in this huge building that has been divided into little stores....
Remember when we went to that one market in California?? Yeah, well that is basically what all of Mexico is like.

I dont know a lick of Spanish and I cannot understand anything right now.

Sorry, I am jumping around everywhere... I just cant wrap my head around everything here.

So after we got to the mission home, some hermanas came and picked me up and now I am on splits with them for the day. I cant wait to actually be able to prosleyte, we met a sweet older lady named Liddy at the bank... and gave her a foyeto about the restoration, and got her address for other missionaries to visit her! I love the work. Its really hard (I dont know if that is just because I have to focus so hard to understand) but, I know that through the Lord, I will be okay here!

Also, I have offically had street food! Guys, its complete madness here. I cannot believe it. Really, just picture that one California market times like 10, and that is just what is like here.

I guess tonight that I will be sleeping at the misson home, and get assigned my trainer tomorrow..please pray for me.

Here is a small miricle for yo: So I needed to convert all of my american money into pesos, but we had no idea where to do that.... So we kept asking around, and we finally found a bank that would transfer it, but you had to have an account with them.  Just as we were about to leave, a man came and started to tell us that he heard what we were saying and that he could just transfer it into his account and then give me the money.
Sounds crazy, and that I shouldn't trust him, but then he told us he was a member, and that he was also the Bishop in his ward, and would love to help us. Incredible how the Lord is willing to help with even the small things in our lives!

Man was I greatful! Right after that happened is when we met Letty.

Its been una raddo dia, pero yo se I can only go up from here.

Leaving my district was really hard for me to do last night, and I cried a lot. I think that leaving the CCM was a lot scarier than leaving home. It was honestly one of the single most spiritual experiences  I've have had in my life.

I really feel so lost, but also a little bit at peace. I am going to love it here, but I stinking need to get the language down!!

Well, I really don't have much time to write, but I truly love each and every one of you, and wish I could adequetely express my gratitude for all of the love, support, and prayers in my behalf.

I am so excited for all of my adventures in mexico to begin!!

Le ama,
Hermana B

Correspondence with Madison's Mission President

Dear President and Sister Titensor-                                                      Sunday, October 11th, 2015

I am writing on behalf of my wife and myself.  We are the parents of Sister Madison Beardall.  The thought behind reaching out is simply to share how special Madison is to us.

While I know the Lamanites were a much more ferocious people, we have felt a little like King Mosiah in Mosiah 28:6-7 as he approached the Lord when his sons desired to serve.  Madison is the oldest of our four children and has brought a tremendous amount of joy to our lives and family.  She is ecstatic about her call and will bless so many as she serves in Mexico City! She loves the Lord and has a conviction that is borne of her personally seeking.

Simply, I write to share of our love for our daughter and to ask for your care and attention as she is under your stewardship.  I have a testimony of the gospel and  believe that you are both called of God  As such, I know I don’t need to personally ask for her to be watched over.  But, as we conclude today, knowing she is packed in the CCM and ready to head your way first thing in the morning, I could not sleep without knowing I have personally asked for you to love her, watch over her, and protect her.  She means the world to our little family!

We pray for you both and so appreciate the sacrifice your service demands from you personally as well as your family.  Thank you!!

Picture from the evening Madison was set apart
May God bless you, Madison and the people of Mexico City-

Sincerely-

Armel and Lanni Beardall

Good evening Bro/Sis Beardall,

Picture with President and Sister Titensor.  The
file name of the picture in the e-mal
was, "The Rescuers"
What a blessing and a treat for us to receive your daughter early in the morning. We have read her application paperwork and see the many things in which she has been involved. As I read, I could feel the Lord´s love for her.  She will be a tremendous blessing to her companions and the people here, members and non-members. So much work to do and I can see that she is faithful and has many experiences that will be a great help to her as she does the Lord´s work.  I am delighted that she is ecstatic about her call.

We look forward to serving with her.

Best regards,
President Titensor
